The rainbow boys could not maintain their 1-0 victory over WAC following their 2-0 win against CI Kamsar but suffered a humiliating 6-2 aggregate defeat to the Moroccans in the second leg of the competition.

After dropping to the Confederations Cup, Hearts took 2-0 advantage in the first leg against JS Saoura but followed same itinerary to concede four goals in the second leg staged in Algeria.

After this worthless performance by the treble winners of the CAF inter-club competitions, Esme Mends who played for the club between 2008 and 2013 has accounted on the performance of his former side as disappointing during an interview with the CEO of this noble website, Sir Martin.

“Overall, it is very disappointing, not just for Accra Hearts of Oak as a club but the entire country because checking on the performance demonstrated from the second round of last season’s league and the FA Cup, people were confident that Phobia will perform well in Africa but it is very disappointing with humiliating 6-1 result in the Champions League, still we believed that they will make amends in the Confederations Cup but that one too was even worse.” He said.

“Overall, I will say we have disappointed the whole nation not just Accra Hearts of Oak.” He added.
