The team left Kumasi to Accra on Monday where they’ve been training at the Accra Academy Senior High school astro turf to intensify their preparations and to familiarize with the artificial turf play before facing the Nigrian side in the August 10th fixture which will be played on another artificial pitch.

The team will leave the nation’s capital, Accra on Thursday morning at 9:40am local time from the Kotoka International Airport to Abuja, before continuing to Kano where the match would be played on Saturday.

Coach Kjetil Zachariassen’s side will have their final training session at 3:00pm local time on Wednesday at the Accra Academy Senior High School park to put finishing touches to their preparations as they begin another Champions League campaign for the first time since 2015.

Kotoko traveled to Accra with 23 players but only 18 will make the trip to Kano along with certain selected management members such as Kennedy Boakye Ansah, the club’s spokesperson. The five players likely to return home after Wednesday’s final training include goalkeeper Osei Kwame, defenders Patrick Yeboah who joined recently from Karela United FC and Samuel Frimpong,  Alexis Arnold Didi and Stephen Ayiku Tetteh.
