Asante Kotoko Champions League opponents Kano Pillars Ghanaian number one Ibrahim Iddrisu has reiterated that his side will beat the Ghanaian giants in the clash in August regardless of big signings which Kotoko have done to strengthen the squad for the continental campaign.

Supporters of the Porcupine Warriors have now gained lots of confidence in their team after the club made giant step to sign big names like former Al Hilal midfielder Richard Okrah, George Abege who was very instrumental in Kenya’s Kariobangi Sharks Confederations Cup campaign last season, dribbling magician Kelvin Andoh formerly of Wa All Stars, midfield commander Justice Blay among others to enhance the strength of the team ahead of the continental campaign.

Speaking to Focal Sports on Fox FM, the former Ashanti Gold goalkeeper maintained that though Kotoko has made good signings, it will take time for the players to establish cohesion, compatibility and understanding as a team, and that will make the difference as Kano Pillars is already an established side that can boast of a team.

“One thing I will say is that, it’s true Kotoko is buying players and you personally know that in football as you buy the players as to whether the players will be able to jell together is also another factor”, Iddrisu stated. ”

According to Iddrisu, he met players who have played together for Kano Pillars for four or five years when he joined the team, and team work is really in existence which gives his side more stability over Asante Kotoko ahead of the Champions League showdown in Kano.

“When I came to Kano Pillars I came to meet the existing team which has played together for four or five seasons, so Kano Pillars have a team and Kotoko have players”, Iddrisu observed.

Asante Kotoko have been drawn against Nigeria’s Kano Pillars in the preliminary stages of the CAFCL, and the Porcupine Warriors will commence their campaign away to Kano on the weekends of 9-11th August.
