Coach Annor Walker has revealed why former Basel defender, Samuel Inkoom is not part of his Local Black Stars provisional squad.

The former U-20 World Cup winner has disclosed his intentions for Black Stars’ return and wants to use his term with Hearts of Oak to chart his way back to the national team.

The right-back marked his debut in week 24 playing the final 28 minutes of their 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko.

He has made six appearances, making a start in five games with 2 goals to his credit.

Inkoom believes more consistent displays can get him back into the national team whiles many believe he should have been added into the Local Black Stars for the CHAN tournament qualifiers per his good works despite his age.

Coach Annor Walker announced a 35-man squad on Thursday, May 26 as Hearts and Kotoko dominated with the majority of the players.

The gaffer’s explanation indicates clearly that the former Kotoko right-back could earn a spot in the Black Stars B team depending on his performance as time goes on.

“For Samuel Inkoom I don’t know why you people are arguing about him. He hasn’t kept long in the long after joining Hearts of Oak. He’s not played even more than ten matches or whatever if am not lying or I can be corrected. He has currently played six matches and to be honest, I’ve not seen his play and I’ve not seen him playing until maybe as time goes on the I will say he needs to be considered depending on his performance then we take it from there. He told Ghana’s most authoritative website, Ghanasportspage.com.

In-form forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Salifu Ibrahim, Suraj Seidu, Abdul Aziz Nurudeen, Mohammed Alhassan, Dennis Korsah, and goalkeeper Richard Attah.

Imoro Ibrahim, goalie Danlad Ibrahim and Mudasiru Salifu of Kotoko were all named in the 35-mand team ahead of the team’s upcoming preliminary stage encounter with Benin.

The Black Stars B are in search of a ticket to the biennial competition scheduled for Algeria in January 2023.
