Ghana, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and Cameroon have completed the roster of teams that will represent Africa at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Before 7:30PM, Ghana, Senegal had booked their tickets before the two North African countries followed by the host of the just ended AFCON also came on board to Qatar.

Ghana sealed its place in Qatar in style as they went to Abuja and draw 1-1 with Nigeria following the goalless draw in Ghana.

The two goals were scored in the first half through the two captains, Thomas Partey and Ekong.

Senegal beat Egypt 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate scoreline from both legs whilst hosting a laser show, to qualify for Qatar 2022.

Dozens of lasers were aimed at Mohamed Salah before the Egypt forward skied his penalty in the crucial World Cup qualifying shootout defeat to Sadio Mane’s Senegal.
In a repeat of the Africa Cup of Nations final earlier this year, Senegal sealed a shootout victory over Egypt – this time to reach the 2022 World Cup.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have also qualified for their seventh World Cup after a 5-2 aggregate scoreline against DR Congo.

For Tunisia, the goalless draw they recorded in the second leg was enough to get them another World Cup ticket after picking a narrow win in the first leg.

Elsewhere, Cameroon have also booked a ticket to the major tournament after beating the Algerians with a 2-1 scoreline in the second leg.

The first leg tie ended in favour of Algeria after a goal victory but the 2-2 aggregate scoreline gives the Indomitable Lions chance to represent Africa.

The team has qualified eight times for the FIFA World Cup, more than any other African team (in 1982, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014 and 2022). However, the team has only made it once out of the group stage. They were the first African team to reach the quarter-final of the FIFA World Cup in 1990, losing to England in extra time.
