AFCON 2021: Wasteful Black Stars held to a heartbreaking draw as Gabon grab late equalizer

The Black Stars has once again disappointed Ghanaians with heartbreaking 1-1 draw to Gabon.

The Ghana national team were expected to revive their round 16 hope with a victory over the Panthers but failed to do so after handing their opponent a chance to equalize in the last two minutes of the throttle through Jim Allevinah.

Andre Ayew secured the lead for Ghana at the 18th minute with a brilliant strike following an assist from Thomas Partey.

As it stands in Group C, Gabon will be at the second position with 4points behind Morocco who has already advanced to the round 16 with 6points whiles Ghana sit at the third position on the table with 1point and Comoros with a point sitting at the bottom side respectively.

Andre Ayew was honoured as the Man Of The Match after the full throttle.

Ghana, the four times winners of the tournament will have to beat the AFCON debutant, Comoros to seal place in the next stage of the competition whiles Gabon takes on Morocco on Tuesday.
