Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association, Fred Achie has revealed the traveling requirements and procedures of the Ghana Black Stars for their trip to Cameroon before the commencement of the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations.

All the players announced by Coach Milovan as the provisional squad was supposed to be in Qatar for preparations at least two weeks before the tournament but the European clubs fought for an extension of releasing the players which is scheduled for January 3rd, 2022.

Only nine players made the trip to Qatar before three others joined on Tuesday, 28th December.

The team will be moving from Qatar to Cameroon with a direct flight on January 5, 2022. Ghanasportspage.com can exclusively confirm.

As revealed by Achie, the players absent in camp right now will all gather in Qatar for one flight to Cameroon.

Daniel Amartey, Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Abdul Baba Rahman, Andy Yiadom, Edmund Addo, Baba Iddrissu, and others are yet to join the contingent in Doha-Qatar.

During an interview with Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe, a writer of ghanasportspage.com Mr. Achie revealed “The team will leave Qatar on the 5th of January so if they are joining them on on the 3rd it means they will join in Qatar. He said.

“All the players who will join before 5th January will join the team in Qatar and move together. We notified the tournament organizers that we will be arriving at the tournament venue from the 5th and that’s where the organizers will pick the cost of your travel and so the players would have to join before the team touches down at the tournament venue.

“The point am making is that first of all, the requirements is that with the ticket the whole team will be traveling together to the host venue. That is number one.

“Number two, the fact is that the team will travel on the 5th of January and if the players are joining on the 3rd of January it means they will join them in Qatar before they move to Cameroon.

“I cannot assure for their meeting because anything is possible but the point am trying to make is that all the players are going to join in Qatar as a group before they travel for the tournament venue.”

“The requirement is that the team will arrive as a group and so if the date for the team to travel is 5th January and the players would have to join before the date it means that they will join their colleagues in Qatar before they will move as a group to Cameroon. There is a direct flight from Qatar to Cameroon so it will be easy for them to join their colleagues in Qatar.

“The booking of flight is done by the tournament organizers, tell them where you are to confirm your travel. The players are not joining because of that. That isn’t the reason because if not for whatever reason all of them will be there training with the team so they have to go and join their colleagues. Even if for two or three days training is better than you not having any training with your colleagues at all before they arrive for the tournament. He concluded.

Ghana will start its 40-years trophy drought journey with Morocco before taking on Gabon and Comoros in Group C.
