The crucial encounter has been scheduled for Saturday, August 24 at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium at 15:00 GMT, and the continent’s football governing body, CAF, has named Nigerien officials to handle the crucial encounter.

Referee Abdoulaye Rhisa Almustapha will be assisted by fellow countrymen Sadissou Idi and Salissou Bachir as assistants line one and two respectively, with Moussa Ahamadou operating as fourth official for the game.

Nigeria’s Sanusi Mohammed has been appointed as the Match Commissioner on the day.

Ashantigold SC took the lead at the 55th minute through defender Richard Osei Agyemang’s fantastic overhead kick which went beyond the reach of goalkeeper Carlos Musibe against their fellow Equatorial Guinean counterparts before the home side equalised through Diosando Mbele ten minutes later to end the game in a 1-1 stalemate.

With away goal at hand, the Miners look favourites to advance to the next stage of the competition in the second leg.

Ashantigold arrived home last Monday, rested yesterday and resumed training this morning at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium to begin preparations for the match against Akonangui FC on August 24.
