The Black Stars poor run of form has seen them dropped five places in the latest FIFA World rankings released on Wednesday
Ghana have been hit with yet another disappointing news as the Black Stars are now ranked 70th on global football rankings released for the month of October by FIFA on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite becoming one of the 32 countries to progress from the group stage of the just ended FIFA World Cup, Ghana lost their opening two games in 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers including a shocking 4-2 home defeat to Gambia.
The defeat to Gambia meant that the Black Stars have lost their last four games and are winless in their five games in all competitions, losing 28.35 points in the latest rankings released.
Prior to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ghana ranked 73rd overall but moved eight places up, 65th position, because of the 1-0 victory over Panama and the goalless draw against England. Since then, the Black Stars were standstill in August and September before finally declining ones again.
Interestingly, Ghana moved as high as 29th position on the rankings exactly thirteen years ago ahead of 2014 FIFA World Cup but the mighty appears to be in the abyss as the West African giants are even without a coach following the mutual termination of Portuguese Carlos Queiroz’s contract.
