The Black Stars final squad was unveiled on Monday night as Carlos Queiroz men fine tune to make a mark at the World Cup
Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz announced his final 26-man squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup on Monday night.
Conspicuously missing out was Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi who was tipped to at least pick the third spot in the goalkeepers’ ranking. However, he lost the chance to Joseph Annang.
Centre back Alexander Djiku could not recover on time after picking up an injury in camp and his place was handed over to Derrick Luckassen of Pafos.
Luckassen will be making his first international competition for the West African giants having made his international bow for the Black Stars against Germany few weeks ago in an international friendly.
He is a player of high quality and maturity and was on top form last season. In all competitions, Luckassen played 46 matches including eight matches in the UEFA Champions League, lasted 4,226 minutes and scored six goals with zero assists. Again, he received six yellow cards and saw two red cards.
