Medeama made a huge statement over the weekend as they defeated their rivals Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0 to widen the gap at the top of the Ghana Premier League title chase thanks to a brace from in-form Salim Adams.

Salim has become a dead ball specialist this season as most of the goals he scores come out of nowhere. On Sunday, he scored one from the penalty spot and another through a well-taken free-kick.

Now, he stands on the brink of a remarkable finish to the season, one that could see him crowned with multiple honours and firmly etched into the narrative of Ghanaian football. At the heart of Medeama SC’s impressive campaign, Adams has been instrumental in propelling the Yellow and Mauve to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table. With 56 points and a five-point cushion over Bibiani Gold Stars, the title is within touching distance.

Adams’ influence extends far beyond numbers. Week after week, his performances have lit up stadiums, earning admiration from fans and analysts alike. Interestingly, he is the player with most man of the match awards having already bagged 11 in 26 games he has featured this season.

His consistency, composure, and attacking threat have placed him firmly in contention for the league’s Player of the Season award. There is also growing belief among Ghanaian football lovers that his form could earn him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a testament to his rising stature in the game.

If new coach Carlos Queiroz considers him, he will become the second player in the setup, adding to goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, whom he previously played club football with during his days at Hearts of Oak.

Yet, perhaps the most thrilling subplot in Adams’ campaign lies in the race for the golden boot. Currently trailing Augustine Okrah of Bechem United by just two goals, Adams is closing in fast. Okrah leads the chart with 13 goals, but with four matches still to play, the race remains wide open.

Should Adams maintain his scoring rhythm, he could yet overtake the seasoned forward and claim the crown.

As the season hurtles toward its conclusion, anticipation builds. Titles, individual accolades, and national team recognition all hang in the balance. For Salim Adams, the final stretch is not just about finishing strong, it is about defining a season that could be remembered for years to come.

Therefore, Salim could end the season with a league winners medal, Player of the Season award and top scorer’s trophy and that will give his career a huge boost especially to the European market.
