The Black Stars saw a monumental decline as they have now dropped from 70th position with a total point of 1360 to 73rd position with 1338 points following their recent poor performances in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. After sharing the spoils goalless with Sudan in Accra a fortnight ago, the Ghana surprisingly lost 2-0 in the reverse fixture in Libya as Sudan moved to second place in Group F with seven, and Ghana now on the verge of missing out of the competition as they only have two points after four games.

In September, Ghana dropped six places following a home defeat to Angola and a stalemate with Niger in Morocco which means that the Black Stars have dropped nine place in the FIFA World rankings between September and October since they have failed to win a single game in four matches.

Sudan, however, have moved ten places up after picking four points from Ghana and are now ranked 110th in the world -their biggest rise in nearly ten years.

The series of poor performances, however, have also seen Ghana maintaining its 14th position in the African rankings.

Morocco, 13th in World, lead the African rankings followed by Senegal (20th), Egypt (30th), Nigeria (36th), Algeria (37th), Côte d’Ivoire (40th), Tunisia (47th), Cameroon (49th), Mali (54th), Congo DR (57th), South Africa (60th), Burkina Faso (62nd), Cape Verde (72nd), Ghana (73rd)
