Emmanuel Yeboah of FC Cluj scored a first half hat-trick as Black Meteors of Ghana brushed off Egyptian giants, FC Zamalek 4-1 at the Zamalek Sports Complex to wrap up preparations for the 2023 U-23 AFCON.

Yeboah scored the opener in the eleventh minute but his goal was cancelled by the hosts after five minutes.

Just nine minutes after the equalizer, the FC Cluj forward scored again to restore the lead for Ghana. Yeboah then completed his hat-trick in the space of 30 minutes.

Emmanuel Appau of Bibiani Gold Stars also wasted no time to score the fourth goal for Ibrahim Tanko’s side just before halftime.

Zamalek had no response for the scoreline in the second half as Ghana, who drew 1-1 with The Pharaohs on Thursday wrapped up their training tour in Egypt with a morale-boosting win.

The team is expected to leave its training base in Cairo on Wednesday and continue its preparations in Rabat, Morocco.

Ghana will take on Congo in our opening match of the competition on Sunday, June 25,2023 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The Black Meteors will then take on hosts Morocco in the second Group A game at the same venue.

Ghana’s final group game will be against Guinea at the Grand Stade de Tanger.

Two best teams from Group A and B will advance to the semifinals stage of the competition.

Winner of the tournament and the two runner ups will qualify to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games Mens Soccer competition in Paris next year.
