Four key players including Southampton defender,  Mohammed Salisu are injury doubts for Ghana’s next game against Madagascar.

Salisu, who likely would have been Chris Hughton’s first-choice center-back, might not feature for Ghana in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the _Barea_ due to groin injury.

Antoine Semenyo promises ‘best version’ at Man City

The 24-year-old has made just one appearance for the Saints in their last sixteen Premier League games.

The other players doubtful for Ghana are Antoine Semenyo, Daniel Kofi Kyereh and Tariq Lamptey, who are both recovering from a knock. Semenyo is recovering from a shin injury that he sustained prior to their match against Chelsea in the English Premier League.

Daniel Kofi was also ruled out of the season due to an injury he sustained during a training session with Freiburgin February, while Tariq Lamptey has a knee injury to recuperate from.

There is no indication of when the Brighton defender will return from the knock he suffered early in their 4-0 win over West Ham.

But while the doors close on some members of the Black Stars squad, opportunity knocks for others to join the team, which has to be confirmed early next month.

With two round of matches to go, Ghana sit in first place in Group E with 8 points following two wins (Madagascar, Angola) and two draws (Central African Republic, Angola) in the first four matches of the qualifiers.

The Black Stars will travel to Madagascar in June before Central African Republic in September wrap up the qualifiers.

The match will take place at Stade Kianja Barea in Antananarivo on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 17H00.
