Ghana redeemed themselves from Sunday’s defeat against Madagascar to secure a 3-1 comeback win over Sudan in their Group C matchday 2 tie in the ongoing CHAN tournament in Algeria.

Sudan had a bright start and snatched the lead during the 31st minute courtesy of Al-Gozoli Nooh but Ghana levelled one minute before halftime through Konadu Yiadom.

However, the Black Galaxies upped their game in the second half and netted from the spot courtesy of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh with Ghana coming from behind to take the lead.

17 minutes later, Barnieh scored again but his goal was ruled out by VAR because of an offside.

The match increased in intensity, with both teams pushing.

Sudan pressed to equalize but their goal was also disallowed and despite Afriyie Barnieh’s red card, Ghana dominated the game with ease as Suraj Seidu of Hearts of Oak who climbed from the bench scored the third goal in the late minutes to seal a 3-1 comeback win for the West African side.

The drama of the last few minutes began with Danlad Ibrahim making great saves as he looked certain to keep The Black Galaxies in the game.

This is Ghana’s first win at this year’s edition and has sent them in second position with three points behind Madagascar’s six after two match days.
