CHAN 2022: Match day tickets sold out

Following unprecedented demand, online tickets for the 2022 CHAN tournament game between the host nation Algeria and Libya opener at the Nelson Mandala Sports Stadium on 13th January are sold out.

With 48hrs to the opening game of the tournament, reports indicate the match day tickets are sold out with a lot of supporters still trooping to patronize tickets.

Algeria’s Minister of sports made the match tickets for the 2022 African Nations Championship, CHAN 2022 available 11 days ago.

According to the President of the local organizing Committee(LOC) Sebgag Abdelrezakand, the tickets for the group stage matches were selling at 200 DA( approximately ¢16) in an attempt to encourage fans to attend matches during the tournament.

Nelson Mandela’s Sports Stadium, the venue for the opening game between host nation Algeria and Libya with a 40,784 stadium capacity have been sold out.

The stadium named in honour of former South African President and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela, is located in Bakari, a suburb of Algiers The iconic stadium was inaugurated with a friendly match against Ghana following a ceremony attended by several local sporting dignitaries.

Algiers,Constantine, Oran and Annaba will host matches during the seventh edition of the tournament dedicated for players plying their trade in their country.

For just the first time, 18nations will participate in the competition.
