“We sacrificed for the club but they treated us badly after winning Confederations Cup” – Jojo Bossman laments

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder, Jojo Bossman, has expressed his disappointment over the club’s failure to fulfil financial promises made to the players following their 2004 CAF Confederation Cup triumph.

In a candid revelation, Bossman criticized the delayed payment of bonuses and the unfair distribution of funds among players, stating that some of his teammates received as little as $50 or $100, despite their sacrifices for the club.

“All the promises they made, they could not fulfil any of them. We won the cup in January. Ask Amankwah Mireku and other players when they finally gave us that small portion of the money. We received it somewhere in October when some players had already left,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.

Bossman highlighted how some key players, including Saani Mohammed, had already moved on to other clubs, including Asante Kotoko before the delayed payments were made.

“The players and officials tease Kotoko every day, but have they ever asked whether the players were treated well? We sacrificed everything for them,” he added.

Hearts of Oak beat Asante Kotoko to win the first-ever Confederation Cup after a thrilling 7-8 penalty shootouts win following a 2-2 draw on aggregate.
