Ghanaian football administrator, Takyi Arhin insists partisan politics has caused more harm to the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars.

The veteran football administrator revealed in an interview on Thursday that the dismissal of coaches is not the problem but the commitment of the players and partisan politics has badly affected the team.

Ghana endured a dismal outing in the ongoing AFCON, crashing out in the group phase for the second consecutive time, finishing third with only two points.

Speaking about the team’s abysmal performance, Thunder said: “Is a whole lot. Is not about the coaches alone. Is our players having a little bit of patriotism? How many of them can sing the national anthem? Do they kill themselves whenever they are playing? Let’s look at how Côte d’Ivoire qualified for the finals.”

“Until we stop the partisan politics (the NPP and NDC) in our Black Stars, they will continue to suffer.

“Politics is getting the better part of us in our national (the Black Stars),” Takyi Arhin told Accra-based Mothers FM.
