The Ghanaian champions last played in a CAF interclub competition in 2016 and made it to money zone of the CAF Confederations Cup.

On the other hand, Dreams FC’s victory over King in Sunday’s FA Cup final guarantees them a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.

It will be their first appearance in Africa in the history of club. They also lifted the FA Cup title for the first time with a 2-0 victory against Alhaji Grusah’s side at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium.

The competitions is composed of domestic league and cup winners from all 54 CAF member associations and the third-placed-finished club in the domestic leagues of the top twelve-ranked associations discounting/excluding the present year/season.

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak represented Ghana in Africa last season but suffered elimination in the preliminary round.
