Ghanaian forward, Bernard Morrison will miss his side’s CAF Confederations Cup semi-final second leg with Marumo Gallants FC.

The former Ashanti Gold player is currently serving a five-year ban from entering South Africa for violating immigration laws and will thus miss Young Africans’ match against Marumo Gallants FC in the CAF Confederations Cup this afternoon.

Reports from South Africa indicate that the former Orlando Pirates forward overstayed his visa by two months after it’s expiration.

The Tanzanian giants will enter the game at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium holding a 2-0 first-leg advantage with Morrison scoring the second goal during the injury time.

“Morrison was banned for five years,” Young Africans president Hersi Said revealed to South African outlet, Kickoff.com.

“We consulted the embassy. We tried everything with no success. Yes, he will miss the match against Marumo Gallants in Rustenburg on Wednesday.”

Last week’s victory puts the new Tanzania champions in a strong position to reach the final of the CAF Confederation Cup, with the return leg set to take place today. Morrison’s contribution will be vital if they are to secure their spot in the final.
