Baba Yara Stadium gets late CAF Approval to host AFCON qualifiers

Confederation of African Football(CAF) has considered Baba Yara Stadium to host Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Angola.

Ghana will welcome Angola in an AFCON qualifier on March 23,2023 before traveling to play them in Luanda, Angola.

All stadia in the country had initially been rejected with the exception of Cape Coast Stadium which was due to host the game but CAF have also approved the Baba Yara Sports as another venue to host the game.

The Black Stars Of Ghana played Nigeria at the same venue prior to the 2022 World Cup play off and managed to secure a goalless match.

Ghana tops Group E of the qualifiers with 4 points after smashing Madagascar 3-0 and 1-1 with Central African Republic respectively.
