Former Ghanaian international, Bernard Don Bortey has warned the MTN FA Cup reigning champions to abstain from mocking their rivals, Asante Kotoko after Champions League defeat to Kadiogo.

The Porcupine Warriors were eliminated from the CAF Champions League on Sunday following a 3-1 defeat to Burkunabé side RC Kadiogo on penalties.

Don Bortey wants his former club to use it as an advice once they remain as the only club to represent Ghana in the CAF inter-club competitions this season.

The ‘Continental Club Masters’ are preparing for their CAF Confederation Cup second-round clash with Malian side, ASR Bamako.

The team failed to progress into the group stages of the two competitions after defeats to North African clubs, WAC of Morocco and JS Saoura from Algeria.

And, Bortey who played over 80 games for the Rainbow Club has cautioned them about going into the competition for the second consecutive time.

“Hearts should learn from Kotoko’s loss. This is not the time to laugh at Kotoko. Rather they should learn from what has happened to them,” he said during an interview on Kumasi-based Pure FM.

Hearts will travel to play Bamako in the first leg in Mali which is scheduled to be staged between 7th-9th of October before the second leg in Ghana.

The winner of the tie will secure a spot in the group stages of the Confederation Cup.
