The club celebrated it’s it’s 87th birthday on Wednesday having been established on August 31st, 1935.

To celebrate his former side, Agyemang Badu used the opportunity to advised them ahead of the Champions League campaign, saying it is good to lose in a pre-season game than to lose in an African competition.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Asempa FM, he stated: “I will congratulate them. The club has come a long way. This is where we are,” Agyemang Badu stated.

The also advised the club following their abysmal performance in Sudan and urged them to move on.

“I know they are doing pre-season for the the Africa. Putting football aside as an Olympics player, I want to talk to them as a normal person or a supporter.

“Is good to lose in a pre-season game than to lose in a Champions League game. Maybe there has been one or two things with the scorelines but is a new coach with new players again and with this kind of high profile games is good for them. What I can say is that the supporters should calm down.

“Pre-season, is good to lose than the losing in Africa and I know before the campaign they will become good.

“I wish them well.”

The Ghanaian top-flight side were unable to secure a win in their four friendly matches played in Sudan.

In all, the club conceded 12 goals having lost to Al Hilal Omdurman twice, Simba SC and played a 1-1 draw with Al Ahli Khartoum to wrap up their preparations.
