Coach Annor Walker, the Black Galaxies gaffer has explained why Aduana Stars reliable forward, Bright Agyei has joined the national team B ahead of their clash against Nigeria.

Adjei, who was impressive for the Dormaa-based club after scoring 13 goals in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season will team up with the rest of the playing body ahead of the double header against the Nigerians.

Annor Walker disclosed that the experienced striker was part of the team but he left due to injury whiles speaking in an interview with Accra-based Original FM.

Addressing the football fraternity on why the 28-year-old attacker has been invited, he said, “My late call-up for Bright Agyei is not a late call-up. Bright Agyei was in the team but he was injured when he came to the camp for the first time so he asked for permission and left for treatment.

“He kept long but I had a call from him before our departure from Ghana to Austria that he has fully recovered. I said okay and told him that we were embarking on a training tour so I will call him when we return.

“I checked it out from his coach (Paa Kwasi Fabin). He also told me that the player is training and everything is okay. That’s why I invited him,” he stated on Original FM’s Super Sports Show.

Ghana will face Nigeria this weekend at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Annor Walker’s side returned from Austria on Thursday to prepare for the upcoming encounter.

The team is well prepared to break their qualification drought after missing out on the last three editions.
