GPL returnee, Samuel Inkoom has delivered a sweet message to the fan base of Accra Hearts of Oak concerning their mindset ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup journey next season.

The one-time U-20 World Cup winner has scored 2 goals since completing his sensational switch to the GPL, early this year, after 12 years playing in Abroad.

Still playing at the Accra Sports Stadium, the 32-year-old has proved there is plenty left in the tank by conjuring up some iconic moments with the GPL giants.

And as attentions turned to participate in the upcoming CAF Confederations Cup 2022/2023 season after winning the MTN FA Cup, the former Basel defender has reached out to address the mindset of expectations for the journey.

Hearts of Oak grabbed the ticket for the CAF inter-club competition after a 2-1 triumph over Bechem United in the MTN FA Cup final at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Goals from Caleb Amankwa and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh cancelled out Emmanuel Avornyo’s opener and gave Hearts of Oak the amazing victory to retain the title.

Inkoom who had an assist in the game is yet to disclose his plans for his stay or move but he made it clear in a statement with Ghanasportspage.com that he is currently focusing on his current contract.

Speaking ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup journey, Inkoom has delivered to the fans to expect something special and with the experience he has brought alongside Sulley Muntari will have an impact on the team to wipe off last season’s humiliating performance in Africa via Ghanasportspage.com.

“There’s going to be a big surprise and also a big platform for the team [Hearts of Oak] because they’ve been there and they have experience towards it and we also bringing that experience on board [me and Sulley] is going to be another atmosphere as well so as a player we also want to achieve something. Being a team is not because you are playing because you are Samuel Inkoom, because you are Sulley Muntari but the impact is very important so that is what we want to all the Accra Hearts of Oak fans that this time Africa is going to be something special for them.”

“I think the technical team are doing their best to make the fans happy. Am not the coach of the team, we have the Technical Team, they are doing everything. You know playing in Africa is not easy. In Africa you represent you county. Is not even Hearts of Oak. You represent your country [Ghana]. Imagine about how to make Hearts of Oak fans happy. That’s the most important thing so I think that Tobge Afede [I call him King], to be honest I cannot use a word to describe him. He is doing everything. He has so much passion for the game so I know he knows what to do to make the Accra Hearts of Oak fans happy.”
