Goalkeeper of the GPL holders, Richard Atta has reacted to the Black Stars ‘B’ call-up backing himself to become the first choice of Annor Walker’s side.

The 27-year-old has already proved to the nation as one of the best local goalkeepers and also the first choice of Samuel Boadu team.

Attah 27, walked into Milovan’s squad for the AFCON in Cameroon with the senior team but yet to make his debut. He believes to have a scintillating display in the post when the chance is given as the first choice in the second side for the CHAN tournament qualifiers.

Speaking to Phobianews.com, the 2020/21 GPL winner revealed, “I have the self-belief that, yes, I could hold down the position.”

“First and foremost, I have to get in the team and that’s one of my goals at the moment. I’m just trying to learn and take it step by step but over time that’s one of my aspirations.” He added.

The goalkeeper is one of seven Hearts of Oak players named in the 35-man squad by Walker.

He will join the team on Monday to commence camping ahead of the game against Benin.
