Equatorial Guinea started well but missed out on the chance to make another history, having defeated titleholders Algeria in the group stage to advance.

At the 28th minute, Sadio Mane assisted Famara to get the lead for the Senegal national team. They ended the first half with a lone goal.

Back into the second half, Iban Salvador fought to get a penalty for the Guineans but it was canceled after the VAR check.

They kept on fighting to get the equalizer through Yannick Buyla at the 57th.

The Teranga Lions restored the lead through Cheikhou Kouyaye and later had the third goal by Ismaila Sarr of Watford who came in as a substitute in the second half.

Sadio Mane’s Senegal will match on Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals on February 2nd.
