Guinea president Colonel Mamady Doumbouya has angrily reacted to the elimination of the Guinea national team from the AFCON following a 1-0 defeat to the Scorpions of Gambia in a last 16 clash.
President Doumbouya cautioned the players not to fail in the 2021 AFCON or else they will have to return the money invested in them after they were thrashed by Tanzania by 3-0 in a friendly game before the tournament.
The team that includes Liverpool top star Naby Keita were not able to reach their destination as cautioned by the incumbent president of the land.
The president in his reactions after the game stated “You have not showed pride or hunger to win, a disgraceful performance have let down 13million Guineans. Those that play abroad should connect to their clubs ,your faces is not needed in guinea at this moment.” Says Doumbouya.
“I am very much disappointed because you lost to a team that is not superior to you” He ended.
