The Elephants were joking with their chances after taking the lead through Sebastien Haller’s 25th minute brilliant strike to send the Leone Stars keeper wrong way with his right foot.

The heat and humidity of this evening’s kick-off at the Japoma Stadium in Cameroon’s economic capital leaves Ivory Coast on 4points, but Sierra Leone deserve enormous credit for their display in their first appearance at the Cup of Nations in 25 years to gain their second point.

Ivory Coast had an early opportunity to steal the lead after they were handed a penalty but the last time MOTM against Algeria, goalkeepeer Sangare was superior in his post to deny Frank Kessie’s kick.

Ajax star Sebastien Haller and Arsenal skipper Nicolas Pepe took Ivory Coast on a 2-1 lead but an astonishing mistake from Badra Sangare allowed Alhadji Kamara to tap in the late leveller.
