Captain Max Gradel led Ivory Coast to beat Equatorial Guinea in Group E’s second opener after scoring at the 5th minute of the game.

Coach Patrice Beaumelle began the journey with a strong lineup with the likes of 2021/22 UCL leading top scorer Sebastien Haller, Franck Kessie, Eric Baily, and other top stars for their opener.
