AFCON 2021: Brazilians of Africa, Gabon rally to claim first victory in Group C second opener

Ghana’s opponent, Gabon claimed their first victory in second opener in Group C against AFCON debutants, Comoros by 1-0.

Interestingly, the first opener in the group between Ghana and Morocco also ended 1-0 in favour of Morocco.

In absence of Arsenal star, Aubameyang the Panthers/Brazilians still fought to pick up the maximum three points to join Morocco as joint leaders in Group C whiles Ghana and Comoros are down the line.

Despite the defeat, the debutants Comoros dominated in the game, and recorded 66percent ball possession to 34 of Gabon in their first ever Africa Cup of Nations appearance.

The Panthers claimed the victory through Aaron-Salem Boupendza’s 16th minute goal.

Gabon will on Friday, 14 January, 2022 take on Ghana in second group encounter whiles Comoros battles Morocco.
