Cape Verde grabs slim win in AFCON 2021 second Group A game

After Cameroon opened the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso, Cape Verde has also recorded their first victory over Ethiopia in a Group A second encounter of the day by a goal to nil.

Ethiopia lost the game with ten men after their defender, Yared Baye was sent off the game following a bad tackle at the 12th minute.

Cape Verde was exceptional with their style of play despite not getting more goals.

They were able to earn the maximum points through the first half header from Julio Tavares.

Back in the second half, both sides tried to get a goal with Ethiopia seeking an equalizer but it was hard for both to find the back of the net.

Ethiopia and Burkina Faso are yet to earn a point whiles Cape Verde and Cameroon trail each other with 3points.
