Kumasi Asante Kotoko is poised to follow the first phase punishment of naming and shaming of persons caught on camera stealing gate proceeds and tickets by live telecast with possible prosecution according to club policy analyst Yaw Amoh Sarpong.

The porcupine Warriors revealed on Friday it has begun telecasting CCTV camera footage of persons caught stealing from gate proceeds during the club’s Confederations cup home matches, and the idea is to first of all name and shame the culprits.

According to Amoh Sarpong, this is a mild and first step by the club to curb the long existing shameful act, but stiffer punishments like taking legal action against culprits will be introduced in the not too distant future.

“We have installed CCTV cameras at the stadium (to watch over money collection at the gate) and you will be shocked at what we have seen far, we’ve begun to show the footage on TV to name and shame the culprits as first phase punishment”, Amoh Sarpong told FOX 97.9 FM on Fox Sports Talk.

” We don’t want to  tense the atmosphere now due to the stage we are now, but we will not hesitate to take further actions in the interest of the law, when you are caught we will multiply the number of tickets on you by ten then you pay, if you fail then we take you to court”, he cautioned.

Asant Kotoko will play against Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan on Sunday evening at the Baba Yara sports stadium and the club has strengthened their security measures to deal with persons who may be caught making away with gate proceeds, or forcing entry without paying gate fees.
